State representative candidate Will Mbah recently visited the Medford Senior Center to meet with participants, learn more about the programs and services available to older adults, and hear firsthand about the issues that matter most to Medford's senior community.
Throughout the visit, conversations focused on affordability, accessibility, reliable transportation, and helping older adults remain independent and able to age in place.
Mbah also met with Medford Senior Center Director Pam Kelly to learn more about the center's wide range of programs and services that help older adults stay active, connected, and engaged.

One memorable moment came when Mbah unexpectedly ran into a longtime friend from Somerville at the Senior Center. The encounter served as a reminder that while Medford and Somerville are neighboring cities, the people, families, and friendships that make up the 34th Middlesex District often span both communities.
As a four-term Somerville City Councilor, Mbah has supported initiatives that help older adults remain independent and connected to their communities. His work has included supporting the creation of a Senior Liaison position, expanding technology assistance for older adults through the Council on Aging's Tech Support Coach Volunteer Program, advocating for continued funding for senior transportation through the Taxi to Health program, and calling for zoning and development improvements that remove barriers for those who wish to age in place.
The visit reinforced that many of the priorities shared by older adults extend across both communities. Whether in Medford or Somerville, older adults want neighborhoods where they can afford to remain in their homes, access the services they need, stay connected to family and friends, and continue living independently with dignity.

Visits like this are an important part of Mbah's campaign as he continues meeting people throughout the district, listening to their experiences, and bringing together the voices of Medford and Somerville around the issues that matter most.
Mbah is a candidate for state representative in the 34th Middlesex District, which includes South Medford and the Hillside neighborhood in Medford, along with West Somerville and parts of Winter Hill, Gilman Square, and Ten Hills in Somerville.
