Did you know Mass General Brigham has a Community Care Van that has been at Clippership Drive Pop-Up Park this summer to provide services to Medford residents?

The van will be here today from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to provide screenings and help for chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, and high blood pressure, and it has multilingual and multicultural clinicians and support staff on board. The idea is to make health care more accessible.

Heads Up

  • Friends of the Fells and Dan Bender of Wilderscaping will lead a crew to remove the invasive porcelain berry near Bellevue Pond on August 30. The group may also pull other invasives along the way, such as multi-flora rose and Asian bittersweet. If you would like to join the effort, sign up to reserve a spot.
  • A household hazardous waste collection event has been scheduled for September 12 at the Andrews Middle School. It's an opportunity to dispose of chemicals that you no longer need. These include lawn chemicals, automotive chemicals, cleaners, solvents, and oil-based paint, to name just a few. Follow the link to see the full list and the fees.
  • A city-wide yard sale and lemonade stands event is scheduled for October 4 from 10 a.m. to 1 pm. There will be a Google map showing the locations of the sales and the lemonade stands. Click here to have your location added to the map.
