Good morning, Medford, Friday, June 26
Happy Friday, everybody. Today, we've got a shout-out for a young Medford author who is working on publishing her first book. Then, we've got the monster GKM 3-day calendar chock full of good stuff to do.
A McGlynn Elementary student is on her way to becoming a published author. Xandria, pictured above, is a rising fourth-grader who has written a book titled, "New World." In her final message of the school year, Superintendent Dr. Suzanne Galusi said the book should be available this summer.
"We are incredibly proud of Xandria's creativity, dedication, and accomplishment," Galusi wrote. "Stay tuned for more information about the release of 'New World' and join us in celebrating this young author’s achievement!"
While we're on the subject of books, the library is running summer reading challenges for all ages through "beanstack." The tagline for the challenges is "Challenge yourself to read outside the box!"
Now, let's talk about what's happening in Medford today, Saturday, and Sunday.
