Good morning, Medford, Wednesday, June 3
Happy Wednesday, everybody. We've got information about a workshop for young students interested in having a career in journalism. Plus, this year's date for National Night Out, and a rundown of things to do today.
Are there any aspiring journalists in grades 8-12 in Medford? Dr. Lara Salahi of Endicott College in Beverly reached out to us about a workshop happening this month for students interested in learning more about the field of journalism, its challenges, and its opportunities.
Salahi is the director of the Young Journalists Workshop, which "offers students the opportunity to explore the craft, ethics, and impact of journalism in today’s rapidly evolving media landscape." The four-day workshop runs June 23-26 at the Endicott campus.
Workshop sessions include: interviewing skills and techniques; fact-checking and media literacy; journalism law 101; introduction to news writing and storytelling; and photography and visual storytelling.
