It's graduation season, a time to celebrate Medford's students heading off to the next chapter of their lives. In her Friday Message of May 15, Superintendent Dr. Suzanne Galusi talked about some celebrations that happened before the formal High School commencement, which will be on June 4.

The CTE faculty, she said, held their annual Senior Banquet, where they honored students from all 15 of Medford's vocational programs. Galusi included a link to the photos that were taken by the film and TV production CTE students.

Galusi also highlighted a special celebration that took place for MHS Senior Matthew Fils:

"Matthew will be entering the Marines after MHS and will be attending boot camp during next month's graduation ceremony," Galusi wrote. "While he sadly won't be there at graduation, Matthew's peers, teachers, building leaders, and even Matthew's former first-grade teacher Ms. Carol Rickenbacker surprised him to honor his completion of high school! Everyone shared stories with Matthew while looking back on a childhood photo montage."

All of us on the Gotta Know Medford team wish Matthew Fils the best of luck on this next journey of his life.

And, we will be there during the formal commencement on June 4 to celebrate all the graduating students.
