Yesterday was a great day for Medford, wasn't it? From the dedication of the statue of Sarah Bradlee Fulton to the Patriots' Day festivities and the reenactment of Paul Revere's famous ride, the city was abuzz.

We had a correspondent covering the dedication and the events in Medford Square, and she will have more on that for you soon, while I covered Revere's ride through West Medford.

Along High Street heading into West Medford Square, families waited for Revere (who was played by National Lancers Brigadier General Richard Reale, Jr.) to ride by on horseback on his way to his second stop of the day, the Paul Revere Restaurant.

High Street resident Joe O'Leary was out on the sidewalk in front of his house with friends and family members. O'Leary, who posed for photos with a cutout of Paul Revere, said it has become an annual event to greet Revere as he rides by and try to get him to make an unofficial stop.

A crowd gathered in front of the Paul Revere Restaurant with cameras and cell phones at the ready. Owner Joe Schanda, Sr., who was in the doorway of the restaurant as Revere addressed the group, said he was just getting ready to clean the grill when Revere arrived. He pointed out his son, Joe Schanda, Jr., with whom he runs the restaurant.

Revere made brief remarks, and then it was time for him to continue on his journey.

Here are more photos from West Medford, and then you'll get to the list of what's happening today in Medford:
