Here are a few things to keep in mind about voting in the primary, submitting election-related content, and keeping up on everything that's been submitted:

Voting: The last day for in-person early voting for the primary is Friday, Aug. 28. The days and hours are listed below.

Election press releases and opinions: Friday, Aug. 28 is the last day we will post primary election-related content. Keep in mind that if you are submitting an opinion piece, you must provide your phone number so we can call you to verify.

2026 GKM Election Guide: We will continue to update our Election Guide as items are posted to the website. So, check back for new content.

A note from TreesMedford

TreesMedford is providing free bare-root trees for yards in the hottest areas of Medford, including south of Salem Street and the Mystic River, including Hillside, Glenwood, South Medford, and Wellington. Residents in other neighborhoods can purchase a tree and planting supplies from TreesMedford for a reduced price of $50. The saplings are 7 to 10 feet high and are native shade-tree varieties. Early voting for the primary

In-person early voting for the primary election is taking place in the City Council chambers at City Hall. Here is the schedule:

• Tuesday, Aug. 25: from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Wednesday, Aug. 26: from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Thursday, Aug. 27: from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Friday, Aug. 28: from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Senior Center events and activities: Chairfit Rhythms at 9:30 a.m.; knit and crochet at 10 a.m.; core and balance at 10:30 a.m.; international culture at 1 p.m.

Playgroups at the Park from 9 to 11 a.m. at Carr Park. Hosted by Medford Family Network, the event features art, music, and movement activities, parachute play, bubbles, balls, and storytelling.

Baby Lapsit at 9:30 a.m. at Medford Public Library. Drop-in story time with songs, rhymes, and gentle movement activities for babies up to 24 months old and parents and caregivers.

Maternal Journaling Workshop from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Arts Collaborative Medford with midwife, artist, and mother Nerida Ackland. Session is designed to be a creative outlet for some of the new feelings and challenges experienced in pregnancy and new parenthood. No experience necessary. Sketchbook provided, or bring your own. Non-crawling age infants welcome. Register.

MGB Community Care Van Clinics from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Clippership Pop-Up Park. Screenings for and education around common chronic health conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, plus screenings for colorectal cancer. Walk-in, all insurances accepted. If you do not have insurance, as the staff how they can help. Staff will not ask about your immigration status.

Magnetic Locker Crafts from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Medford Public Library for teens in middle school and high school to create magnetic locker decor. Drop-in.

Family concert from 5 to 7 p.m. at McGlynn Elementary School playground. Children's activities start at 5 p.m. Concert with Lindsay Munroe starts at 6 p.m.

Medford High School Building Committee meeting at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom, TV and streaming channels. Agenda includes: approval of July invoices totaling $134,354.50; building Committee team updates; report from Sustainability & Systems Advisory Committee; review project adjacencies and related efficiencies for MCM, community partner rentals, community meeting space, health and PE, auditorium and drama, art, music; determine baseline size for auditorium (1000, 800, 750, or 500); design updates and parking spaces

Veteran and First Responder Recovery Group meets at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Medford. All veterans and first responders are welcome on a drop-in basis.

Trivia Night from 7 to 9 p.m. at Medford Brewing. Teams of 2 to 6 players will compete in a traditional 6-round trivia quiz.
