Good morning, Medford, Wednesday, July 15

Happy Wednesday morning, everybody. We've got a nice, big calendar of happenings for today, an opportunity for local business people to help students get ready for school, and an in-case-you-missed-it about campaign finances.

Plans are in the works for the Back-to-School Resource Day, and the city is inviting barbers and hairdressers to sign up to donate some time to "Help students start the school year with confidence by providing free haircuts during this community celebration."

The event will be August 24, from 5 to 7 p.m., at City Hall. Organizers say any time you can give will be greatly appreciated, even if you can only do a couple of haircuts. Click here to sign up.

The event will include many other resources for students and parents, and we will bring you more details. In the meantime, you can read Nell's story about last year's event:

Medford holds its first back-to-school resources fair
The city of Medford held its first-ever Back to School Fair on Aug. 25. Families said the event was a great idea and hoped the city will hold it again next year.

Also, in the meantime, the school supply drive is taking place now through August 17. Here is the information on that:
