Shooting in Medford, one person injured

The Medford Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred overnight, leaving one juvenile victim hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
At approximately 2 a.m. on July 5, 2025, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Light Guard Drive. Upon arrival, officers located a juvenile victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was rendered aid on scene and transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. An extensive area search was conducted, and multiple shell casings were recovered from a parking lot area between Light Guard Drive and Rockwell Avenue.
The Medford Police Detective Division, along with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, is actively working to identify the individual(s) involved in this incident. Residents may notice an increased police presence in the area as the investigation continues.
