Medford Police arrest Methuen man in connection with tire thefts
A Methuen man is facing charges following his arrest Dec. 9 for multiple car tire thefts in Medford and the surrounding area.
A Methuen man is facing multiple charges today in connection with the theft of several car tire thefts.
Joseph Munoz, 34, of Methuen, was arrested Dec. 9 in Haverhill and arraigned in Somerville District Court on multiple charges, including taking and stealing parts from a motor vehicle and attempt to commit a crime.

According to Medford Police, in the early morning hours of Oct. 29 and Nov. 2, 2025, two vehicles were targeted, one on Main Street and one on College Avenue, with all four tires stolen from each. An additional attempt occurred on Nov. 1 on Water Street, where the victim discovered the lug nuts had been removed, but the tires were not taken.
During the investigation, police learned that surrounding cities and towns were experiencing a similar pattern of thefts. Through the hard work of Medford’s detective unit and after a month-long, thorough investigation, an arrest was made Dec. 9 after securing multiple arrest warrants.
