Memorial Day 2025: Medford honors fallen heroes
Memorial Day was observed under a blue sky at Oak Grove Cemetery Monday, May 26, as the community gathered to honor the service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country.
Medford Police Capt. Paul Covino was the emcee for the city’s Memorial Day observances under a blue sky at Oak Grove Cemetery Monday, May 26, as the community gathered to honor the service men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country.
Members of the Scouts gave out programs as people arrived for the ceremony and then led the Pledge of Allegiance. Speakers included Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn, City Councilor Matt Leming, American Legion Commander Paul Granara, and Medford Director of Veterans Services Veronica Shaw.
Rabbi Jessica Dell’Era of Temple Shalom gave the Invocation and the Benediction, and Fire Chief Todd Evans read General Logan’s Original Order.
The Medford Mustang Marching Band performed the Star-Spangled Banner under the direction of Michael Dampier, and members of the Medford Community Chorale and Youth/Young Adult Chorus sang Amazing Grace under the direction of Betsy Pesce. Bryan Hilliard of Occasional Brass & Strings Performed Taps.
