The Saturday road races for Run Medford have been canceled because of the weather. Organizer Dave McGillivray said he is looking at possible dates to run the races later in the fall. Meanwhile, the Kids Fun Runs took place as planned this evening, but they were held in the gym at the High School, rather than at Hormel.
Medford Police posted a storm safety graphic (see photo above) that shows important phone numbers and has safety tips:
Downed power lines: if you see any, call Medford Emergency Communications at 781-395-1212, and call National Grid at 800-465-1212.
- DO NOT go near, touch, or drive over downed power lines.
Downed trees and tree limbs: If they are on houses or vehicles or are blocking traffic, call Medford Emergency Communications at 781-395-1212.
Power outages: If you lose power, call National Grid at 800-465-1212 or report online at www.nationalgridus.com/outages.
- DO NOT call 911 to report a power outage, unless you are experiencing an emergency or you require electricity for equipment and need medical attention.
