Run Medford 2026 is taking place Friday and Saturday, Sept. 25 and 26. Kids fun runs will be at Hormel Stadium on Friday, but the 5K and 10K races will kick off from City Hall on Saturday, so there will be road closures and changes to traffic patterns. These will be temporary, and as the last runners pass, police will begin to reopen roads and lanes.
According to information released by the city, these closures are expected to take place between 7:30 and 9:45 a.m.:
- Salem Street: full closure from Route 60 rotary to Forest Street
- High Street: westbound closure: from Forest Street to Winthrop Circle
- Winthrop Street: westbound closure from Winthrop circle to Lawrence Road
- Lawrence Road: eastbound closure from Winthrop Street to Forest Street
- Forest Street: southbound closure from Lawrence Road to Salem Street
- Riverside Avenue: full closure from Ring Road/Clippership Avenue to Medford Square
- City Hall Mall: full closure
- Atrius Health Parking Garage: no access
- Governors Avenue: full closure from Lawrence Road to High Street
About Run Medford 2026
The full event takes place Friday-Saturday, Sept. 25-26, and will include a variety of races for all ages and a post-race celebration. In addition, this is a run for a cause. In 2026, a donation will be made to every school PTO in the city of Medford through the Dave McGillivray Finish Strong Foundation.
Kids fun runs will take place on Friday at Hormel Stadium with registration beginning at 3 p.m. and the runs starting at 5:15 p.m.:
- 1 lap: 6 years old and under
- 2 laps: 7-8 years old
- 3 laps: 9-10 years old
- 4 laps: 11-12 years old
The 5K and 10K races will kick off from City Hall on Saturday:
- 7:45 a.m. Celebrity Mile and Para Mile start
- 8 a.m. High School Mile
- 8:15 a.m. Jerry’s Run for all Ages 5K race and 10K start
The post-race celebration begins at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall and will include refreshments, food, music, and more.
