Good morning, Medford, Wednesday, September 23

Happy Wednesday, everybody. It's going to be a beautiful day, and we've got the rundown for you on all that's happening. And, a couple of heads-ups.

Gotta Know Medford newsroom pup Sandy visited the Mystic Congregational Church Bell in Royall Park last summer. Sandy says, "Rain, rain, go away, come on back after this weekend." GOTTA KNOW MEDFORD PHOTO/Wendall Waters

We hate to even bring it up, but it's important. The weather is not looking good for this coming Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We're keeping fingers crossed that the rain storms we heard about on WCVB Weather get blown off course. Otherwise, a number of events could be canceled.

Our newsroom pup, Sandy the great dane, is especially looking forward to the Mystic River Celebration. She likes to be the official greeter at the Gotta Know Medford table.

We will keep you posted.

In the meantime, a reminder about the city-wide yard sale and lemonade stand event scheduled for October 4. If you want to host a yard sale and/or a lemonade stand, you need to sign up before September 28.

There are five meetings tonight:

Medford Public Library Director Sam Sednak looks forward to growing and changing with the community
Medford Library Director Sam Sednak: “I fell in love with the city. It’s such a neighborhood-type community. It’s the type of place where you can be walking down the street and say hi to people. There’s also a lot of good will towards the library.”
