Erika Uyterhoeven has come out on top in the 2nd Middlesex Democratic state Senate primary. She was in the lead late on election night, but the Cambridge numbers had not come in. Now, all the unofficial results for the race have been posted.
Here is how the four candidates performed in each municipality:

There were no Republicans running in the primary for this seat, so Uyterhoeven is is the presumptive senator-elect.
The same is true for the race for the 34th Middlesex state representative seat. Will Mbah of Somerville won the Democratic primary, but no Republican ran in the primary, so Mbah is the presumptive state representative-elect.

Just ahead: Labor Day
There are no meetings today for boards, commissions, and the City Council. Meetings pick back up again after Labor Day, which is Monday, Sept. 7. City Hall and the Senior Center will be closed that day.

MAcEA Tax Talk - Medford from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at Medford Public Library. National Association of Enrolled Agents course on the impact and common misconceptions about choosing an S corporation versus a sole proprietorship. There will also be a discussion about key One Big Beautiful Bill Act provisions affecting 2025 and 2026 filers. Tailored to tax professionals and open to the public. Registration required.
Senior Knitting Club at 1 p.m. at West Medford Community Center. Beginners can learn from experienced crafters.
Farmers Market from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at the Condon Shell featuring produce, meats, fish, baked goods, beverages, and artisan crafts. Live music will be: Tokyo Tramps from 3 to 5 p.m.; HERYN from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
- At 6:30, The Grownup Noise will perform as part of the Condon Shell Summer Concert Series. The concert will be free and family-friendly. Food and snacks will be available from vendors, and Medford Brewing will host a beer garden nearby.
