Happy Thursday, everybody. This morning, we're asking a question and we would love to know what you think. Read on.
A seasonal, or pop-up, Halloween store has opened where the CVS used to be at 55 Riverside Avenue. It's called Spirit Halloween and it's got everything from costumes to decorations.
Does it seem too early to talk about Halloween? We aren't even back to school yet and many stores already have Halloween candy on the shelves. Before Halloween is over, we'll likely see Christmas decorations and candy on their shelves.
I don't remember when we transitioned to rolling things out months before a holiday. When I was growing up, we didn't even think about Halloween until the beginning of October, when it was clear summer was over and it was getting cold outside. And, we would never think to talk about Christmas until after Thanksgiving, because during the lead-up to Thanksgiving we were talking about Thanksgiving.
To me, it made each holiday extra special because it had its own time. But, I am curious to know what you think? Do you like it that retailers roll holiday merchandise out months beforehand? If not, do you just ignore it until you're ready? Email me at gottaknowmedford@gmail.com.

Let’s Move! Outdoor Dance Classroom at 10 a.m. at Harris Park hosted by The Click and Medford Family Network. The program is recommended for Medford families with children ages 3 to 8, but all ages and abilities are welcome. No dance experience is necessary. Sign up for one or as many sessions as you want.
Sing Along with Matt Heaton at 10:30 a.m. at Medford Public Library. Program is designed for children up to 3 years old, but all are welcome.
Senior Knitting Club at 1 p.m. at West Medford Community Center. Beginners can learn from experienced crafters.
55+ Ice Cream Social from 1 to 3 p.m. at Medford Public Library with the Senior Advisory Board to make ice cream sundaes. Registration appreciated.
Farmers Market from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Condon Shell. In addition to the line-up of produce, meats, fish, baked goods, beverages and artisan crafts, there will be a kids activity area. Live music: Anabasis from 3 to 5 p.m.; Three at Home from 5 to 7 p.m.
Fundraiser for Team for Kids from 3 to 11 p.m. at The Ford Tavern. Allison is running the New York City Marathon to benefit Team for Kids, which supports free youth and community running programs. Ten percent of all dine-in and takeout orders will be donated.
Art Smart at 3:30 p.m. at Medford Public Library for kids ages 5-12 to learn a new way to craft, paint, build, and design. All supplies will be provided.
Family Pajama Movie Night from 6 to 8 p.m. at Medford Public Library. The movie will be "Hoppers," which is rated PG. You are welcome to wear your PJs and bring blankets and pillows.
Medford Connects ESOL class from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Medford Public Library with Medford Connectors and instructor Karrie Peterson. Register.
3D Modeling with Physical Objects from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Medford Public Library. Join instructor Cassie to learn more about 3D modeling with Onshape and to use the Extrude, Revolve, Loft, and Sweep tools to model. Registration required.
2Tone Tim Presents: Pub Night from 7 to 10 p.m. at Medford Brewing. Monthly event with either a DJ or a band playing ska, punk, soul, reggae, new wave, and BritPop.
The Spine Stealers, Watson Park, and Scrivener perform beginning at 7 p.m. at Deep Cuts.
