I want to update you on a story we published yesterday that resulted in our making a correction.
The story was about the Somerville Democrats accusing candidate Paul Ruseau of breaking the "People's Pledge" not to take money from super PACs in the 34th Middlesex state representative race. Gotta Know Medford contacted Ruseau for the story, but we learned after it was published that there was a miscommunication and he did not receive our message.
Ruseau contacted us and then sent a statement, which we added to the story. You'll also see an editor's note at top of the story.
This is the statement Ruseau sent to Gotta Know Medford: “I’m so grateful for my endorsement by the Massachusetts Teachers Association. Support from our public school teachers is not dark money. It’s important that voters get the true story that the Somerville Democrats never responded to my request for clarification about how the pledge applies to labor unions and instead decided to end the pledge unilaterally.”

A quick reminder
Today is the last day for in-person early voting for the primary, and the polls close at City Hall at 12:30 p.m. On primary election day, Tuesday, Sept. 1, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Click here to find your polling place.

Outdoor Play with Miss Cindy from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Magoun Park for all ages. Parent/child interactive activities, including circle time, problem-solving activities, and games we used to play. Hosted by Medford Family Network.
Paddle Boston – Medford from 12 to 7 p.m. at the Condon Shell, weather permitting. Walk-up anytime to rent a boat. Limited advanced reservations also available. Last boat goes out at 6 p.m. All boats must be returned by 7 p.m. (Saturday and Sunday hours are 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Last boat goes out at 6 p.m.)
MakerSpace Drop-In from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at Medford Public Library for adults and teens age 16+ to work on personal projects or ask the in-house expert about how to use the space and equipment.
Temple Shalom Medford Open House from 5:15 to 7 p.m. The event includes a tour of the building, Kids Kabbalat Shabbat, and dinner (RSVP). Kabbalat Shabbat Service follows at 7:15 p.m.
House Band Friday Family Music Night at 7 p.m. at School of Rock Medford. Free and open to all.

Family Story Time at 10 a.m. at Medford Public Library for children ages 3-7, and their parents and caregivers, to explore new concepts with books and songs.
3D Printer Badge Class at 10 a.m. at Medford Public Library for adults to learn to use the library's MakerBot Sketch printers. Registration required.
Try It Out Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Arts Collaborative Medford. Learn about upcoming classes, workshops, memberships, and community programs, and experiment with free art activities including cyanotypes, clay, watercolor, collage, and conversational French. Free and open to all. Registration appreciated.
Brews, Bites and Beats with Medford Brewing from 12 to 5 p.m. at the Brooks Estate. Family-friendly event with live music, food trucks, and craft beer, plus tours of the manor.
Story time at 2:30 p.m. at Moon and Back Bookstore. The book will be "What Are You?" by Ildulce Brandão-Dasilva.

Art Explorers: Framed Floral Collage Make + Take Workshop from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Arts Collaborative Medford for kids ages 5-10. Registration required.
Mystic Walkers at 11 a.m. at Hormel Stadium. All ages and abilities are welcome to join. The group will decide where the walk will go.
Kier Byrnes Freedom Runners at 11 a.m. starting at Medford Brewing. Choose from several different loops or create your own. All are welcome.
Friends of the Fells invasive plant removal from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. near Bellevue Pond with Dan Bender of Wilderscaping. Hike, learn about invasive plants, and help remove porcelain berry near the pond. Follow the link for details and to register. Appropriate for adults and kids 12+.
First Baptist Church Coffee Hour at 12 p.m. Informal coffee hour in Memorial Hall following services.
Maker Fair & Craft Supply Swap from 12 to 4 p.m. at Medford Public Library. The event kicks off with a craft supply swap at noon, and then there will be craft sessions, demonstrations, exhibits from local makers, a mini fix-it clinic, and more. Free and open to all.
Medford Historical Society and Museum is open on Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. Current exhibit is, "1776 and beyond," but there are also many other resources to explore.
Argentina Festival from 3 to 9 p.m. at The Great American Beer Hall. DJs, bands, food vendors.
