Abundant Housing Massachusetts (AHMA) has announced its endorsement of Somerville City Councilor Will Mbah for state representative in the 34th Middlesex District.
Founded in 2020 to advocate for the creation of abundant housing for all, AHMA works to develop and support a network of grassroots, pro-housing groups and activists across Massachusetts.
As part of its mission, AHMA surveys candidates in local races statewide and supports those who share its commitment to building more homes in their communities.
“I am honored to receive AHMA’s endorsement,” said Mbah. “As an immigrant from Cameroon, I know firsthand how important housing stability is. I moved five times in six years because of rising housing costs, and that experience has driven my commitment to expanding affordable housing and protecting working families. I’m grateful for AHMA’s support and look forward to continuing the fight to ensure everyone has a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home.”
“Councilor Mbah’s track record while serving the City of Somerville is exactly the kind of leader that AHMA is proud to support,” said AHMA Executive Director Jesse Kanson-Benanav. “Councilor Mbah was an integral part of creating the Somerville Office of Housing Stability and has supported transit-oriented development, eliminating parking minimums, and expanding affordable housing investment. We are proud to endorse Councilor Mbah for state representative for the 34th Middlesex District.”
Abundant Housing Massachusetts also endorsed Rep. Mike Connolly for re-election to the State House representing the 26th Middlesex District and Somerville City Councilor Ben Ewen-Campen for state representative in the 27th Middlesex District.
