Panel discussion & exhibit mark Juneteenth at Arts Collaborative

In recognition of Juneteenth, Arts Collaborative Medford invites the public to a powerful evening exploring the intersection of art, racial justice, and reproductive health. On Wednesday, June 19th, join us for a powerful panel discussion in partnership with Resilient Sisterhood Project and Neighborhood Birth Center, held in conjunction with the exhibition Call and Response: A Narrative of Reverence to Our Foremothers in Gynecology. .
The panel brings together a dynamic group of voices across disciplines:
- Jules Arthur, exhibiting artist
- Dr. Yvonne Gomez, OB-GYN, professor, and artist
- Lilly Marcelin, Founder & Executive Director of Resilient Sisterhood Project
- Dr. Jo-Anna Rorie, midwife and healthcare advocate
The discussion will be moderated by Regina Parkinson, Executive Director of Arts Collaborative Medford.
“Call and Response” explores the legacy of Black women in the history of gynecology through the lens of contemporary art, offering a moving tribute and a call to action. The exhibition and panel underscore how creative expression can elevate awareness, inspire collective healing, and support ongoing efforts toward equitable reproductive and maternal healthcare.
The exhibition will remain on view at Arts Collaborative Medford through June 30, 2025.
