Good morning, Medford, Wednesday, June 17
We have got a lot going on here. A shout out to a Medford man who was honored at Fenway Park, a heads-up about Medford Open Studios, a second Chevalier ticket giveaway, and lots of good stuff happening today.
Medford resident John Slonimsky was one of 60 members of the PMC Living Proof community honored recently during Pan-Mass Challenge Night at Fenway.
Living Proof includes PMC riders and volunteers who are being treated for cancer or have undergone treatment in the past. The group was honored as they cycled around Fenway’s warning track during a Red Sox game.
According to the PMC, the Red Sox Foundation has a longstanding commitment as a co-presenting sponsor of the Pan-Mass Challenge, which raises money for cancer research and care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
This year's ride will take place August 1-2, and organizers anticipate that more than 6,000 riders, including John, will participate, as will an estimated 4,000 volunteers. The goal for this year is to raise $79 million.
Visit the Pan-Mass Challenge website to learn more and to support John Slonimsky and other PMC riders.
