February's Glove at First Fight at The Great American Beer Hall seems to have been the start of something.
Boxing is coming back. To Medford. At the Chevalier. This will be a first for the theater and the second time this year that Medford will host a card.
When GKM Sports Writer Chris Hurley reported on Medford boxer Greg Bono's triumph over Izaiah Vargas at The Great American Beer Hall in February, it was the first time in a century that boxing matches were held in the city. That event, Glove at First Fight, was presented by Nolan Bros Boxing Promotions.
Nolan Bros is also presenting the show at the Chevalier. "Showtime At The Chevalier" will take place on September 12, and in the main event, “Showtime” Shea Willcox (8-0, 0 KOs) will take on veteran Gabriel Morales (10-2-1) for the USA New England Light Title in an 8-round showdown.
In other matches, Sheniell “The Bearded Wonder” Rodriguez (6-0-1) will battle James Perkins (15-3-1) for the USA New England Light Heavyweight Title, and Cassius Chaney (25-4) will face Steve Vukosa (15-1-1) for USA New England Heavyweight Title.
