We're starting out with a question for you: Do you watch the Medford Happenings interviews? The show is hosted by life-long resident John Petrella, and if you're not able to watch the show live, you can see the recordings on the website.
Petrella interviews city officials, local business leaders, and community members on timely topics. Here are just a few that you can check out:
- Episode 59: Nick Giurleo discusses the high school building project in all its complexities. At 4 p.m. today, by the way, there is a building project subcommittee meeting.
- Episode 58: Laura O'Neil, who is the executive director of the Medford Chamber of Commerce.
- Episode 57: Medford Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn, who discusses a range of topics, including the city's using a municipal law firm instead of having an in-house solicitor.
Petrella has also recently interviewed Medford recovery coach Chris Summa and the Medford Public Library's Sam Sednak.
Of course, many people work behind the scenes to organize, produce, and film the show.
Medford Happenings is another resource available to Medford residents to learn about issues that affect them and their families.
We also have a heads-up for you this morning regarding road closures and bus schedule disruptions for Saturday, when the Medford Chamber's Oktoberfest celebration is taking place. Roads will be closed and buses will be detoured all day. Vendors start setting up for Oktoberfest at 10:30 a.m. and break down after 4 p.m., so roads will be closed before from morning until early evening. Bus detours will be from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Municipal meetings
- Retirement Board meeting at 9:30 a.m. at City Hall.
- High School Building Committee Construction Manager at Risk Prequalification Subcommittee meeting at 4 p.m. in the high school library, in-person only. Two companies will be interviewed: Skanska USA Building and Consigli Construction Company.
- City Council meeting at 7 p.m. at City Hall and via Zoom, TV, and streaming channels.
