Happy Tuesday, everybody. This morning, we're talking about the City Council's packed agenda for this evening's meeting. Here's what to expect.

Ward 5, you are up next for a neighborhood meeting, and the City Council will be talking about it this evening. The meeting is scheduled for October 20.

During the first of the City Council's neighborhood meetings, Ward 1 residents brought up the issues of vehicle noise (specifically, loud exhaust systems), traffic in general, development, e-bikes, pedestrian safety, and more. Councilors Liz Mullane and Justin Tseng were on hand to meet with the residents.

Details for the Ward 5 meeting should be presented during the City Council's 7 p.m. meeting tonight.

Also on tonight's CC meeting agenda are issues related to the city's legal representation and expenses. There are communications from the mayor regarding the Boston Avenue rezoning and funding for the search for a new police chief to take the reins when Chief Buckley retires. During public participation, Micah-Shalom Kesselman is scheduled to speak.

If you are interested in the work of the Community Preservation Committee, take a look at the agenda for that committee's meeting this evening. They'll be looking at FY2027 applications, including for City Hall facade restoration.

Here's a look at all of the meetings scheduled for tonight, followed by all the happenings fit to post, and we'll end the newsletter with a link to Nell's interview with the new director of Medford Family Network:
