Happy Monday, everybody. Lots to talk about today, from sports to the election and an interesting documentary screening at the library tonight
The GKM 2026 Voter's Guide is up and running. This will be the landing page for all things election related, including interviews with candidates, coverage of forums and debates, letters to the editor, and ballot questions. We will update the guide as new stories, opinion pieces, and events come in.
In the U.S. Senate race, Ed Markey and challenger Seth Moulton are scheduled for a third debate on August 20.
In the 34th Middlesex state representative race, another candidate forum is scheduled for August 19th. It will take place in Medford and will be hosted by Mystic Valley Voters Forum, which is a coalition of individuals and organizations.

Tonight at the library, Zero Waste Medford is hosting a screening of the documentary "Wasted! The Story of Food Waste" beginning at 6 p.m. It will be followed by a discussion. The movie was released in 2017, and the executive producer was Anthony Bourdain. Click here to see a trailer.

Paddle Boston – Medford from 12 to 7:30 p.m. at the Condon Shell, weather permitting. Walk-up anytime to rent a boat. Limited advanced reservations also available. Last boat goes out at 6:30 p.m. All boats must be returned by 7:30 p.m.
Custom Puzzles Drop In from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Medford Public Library for teens in middle school and high school to personalize, color, and make their own puzzle. All materials will be provided.
Drop in Button Making (for teens) from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Medford Public Library for teens to put together their own pin-back buttons.
Ultimate Frisbee pickup from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Tufts Park with Davis Square Ultimate. RSVP.
Teen Night Out – Teens with Disabilities from 6 to 8 p.m. at Medford Recreation Center. Hosted in partnership with the Somerville and Malden recreation departments, the inclusive event will include board games, arts and crafts, and different sports. There will be plenty of pizza.
MakerSpace Drop-In from 6 to 8 p.m. at Medford Public Library for adults and teens 16+ work on their personal projects or ask the in-house expert about how to use the space and equipment.

Historical Commission meeting at 7 p.m. via Zoom and livestream. Garden Commission meeting at 7 p.m. at Winthrop Street Garden, 213 Winthrop St., and by Zoom. Agenda includes updates on Barry Park Garden and other gardens, review and revision of rules and guidelines passed over the winter.
