Good morning, Medford: Friday, Feb. 27
Happy post-blizzard Friday. Here's the scoop on what's happening in Medford this weekend, a few did-you-knows, and the challenges and benefits of all that snow.
We hope your Friday is off to a great start and that you're all dug out from the blizzard. We have lots to fill you in on today. In addition to events and activities happening this weekend in Medford, we've gotta let you know about a book club for young people and a couple of ways to make a difference.
But, first, a word about all that snow. A heavy snow fall like we just had presents challenges for so many people, and some may find themselves stuck inside for long stretches of time. Check in on your neighbor who might be struggling.
That amount of snow can be frustrating even for people who are able to get out. A Medford resident wrote to us saying she had paid someone to dig out her car and clear the sidewalk... and then a plow truck came by. You've been there, right? This is another opportunity to foster community by lending a hand.
There are some fun things about the snow. Sledding, making snow creatures, and winter tracking. Chris and I are putting together a little guide to the tracks and signs of critters you can see right in your neighborhood in Medford. We both live in congested areas, and where Chris lives yards are almost non-existent. But, there is still a lot to see. We will have that for you a little later this morning. Keep your eyes peeled.
