Medford election dates to know

Races are shaping up for Medford’s November election. As of July 21, at least 11 residents (not including the seven incumbents) have pulled papers to run for City Council. At least three residents, in addition to six incumbents, have pulled papers for School Committee.
Here are some dates to know whether you want to run for office and/or vote in the election:
July 25: Last day to pick up nomination papers
July 29: Last day to return nomination papers
Aug. 13: Lists of candidates will be posted outside the Election Commission at City Hall
Sept. 5: Last day to register to vote in the municipal preliminary (Sept. 16), if one is necessary
Oct. 24: Last day to register to vote in the November election
Nov. 4: Election day
